The Matthew O’Neill Memorial ride

This reason that we were here as a group to enjoy this ride is still a sad one. We lost our good Friend Matthew last year and have gathered for this ride (one of his favorite routes) to honor and remember him. We will do our best to celebrate Matt and his contributions to our cycling community by enjoying a great day, riding out bicycles on some of his favorite roads.

The new 101 bike path is a joy to ride!

For this event, I took out my 1980 Holdsworth Mistral. It was a joy to ride and carried me swiftly all day long in comfort. I must remark that there were several classic style bikes out on this ride. It is nice to see some appreciation for the old hardware, and that it can still go the distance, but with style!

There were approximately 15 riders who attended the days ride and all finished with a smile on their face. Thank you to Linda and Larry Bott for hosting the event, to Foster who attended to us during the day and Greg Jones, the PCH Randos RBA. Your efforts are appreciated!
