Sheltering in shop!

Well with the current situation requiring that people stay at home, I have found time to make some progress on getting the workshop organized. Creating a productive and attractive workplace from an empty space is a challenge. The room seems large at first glance but when you put in a few bicycles, motorbikes, ski gear, a convertible, wood working shop and other storage, well it soon becomes obvious that you don’t have as much space as you thought!

Populating the space is not hard though. Bikes that were previously scattered through several rooms and garages can now be housed together. Virtually all of these residents are ready riders, except for those which have not been completed. I expect that by the time this current crisis begins to subside I should have the workshop pretty well sorted and ready to start on those unfinished projects.

The first project up will likely be a 1973 Lygie that I picked up a couple of years ago but has been sitting idle since the move. Other pending projects include:

  • 1962 Roma Olympiade, mostly built be ready to finish.
  • 1984 Lino Messori, changed direction on this on mid-way and need to complete.
  • 1998 De Bernardi, Beautiful repaint, will finish in Athena 11 speed.
  • 1947 PT Stallard racer, going with period correct parts.
  • 1974 Hetchins Italia, NOS frame!
  • Mid 60’s Girardengo, there are two of these.
  • 1971 Lygie, a low end model with some nice chrome.
  • A Whizzer style motorbike, maybe with a board track racer look.
